…….Sitting meditation……… Is turning the directing of seeing from habit of unconsciousness, following thought aimlessly, to seeing the origin as it exists- it is and seeing form-formless as its reality in roughness and fineness. Be settled in the subjects of meditation in now. In now, there is no object of consciousness. It is a cast-away from sense-objects incessantly, feeling of serenity frequently. Mind is sharp and tears off the five hindrances. In concentration, there can be many strategies to induce mind. In insight development, seeing compounded things as their reality is the subjects of meditation. That is seeing mind, under the influence of motive, arises, stays for a moment, and extinguishes. No sense-object is permanent. This view is an insight that develops from meditation only. It is not the knowledge from hearing or considering. It is seeing its behavior… and the nature of all compounded things, which is impermanent, no knower as an ego. All experiences resulting from meditation are also compounded things. Sitting meditation… means that mind is settled in subjects of meditation, sharp and no hindrance. Standing, walking, sitting, or sleeping are only body movements. Mind settled in meditation will see things as their reality, not as belief or old seized understanding. Sitting meditation… is to maintain mind in the now, not to sway or worry about the past, and not to think about the future. Dharma appears to mind in now. When the obstruction of mind is lessened, mind is strong and not vacillated. When mind is clear, it can reflect everything amazingly. Finding this unbound mind may be called… original mind, free mind, liberated mind, etc. The destruction of defilement, which is the continuity of subliminal consciousness, is to see mind moving to the sense-objects. As seeing it clearly, mind is cut and is stopped accruing its habit. Sitting meditation is to dwell in the subjects of meditation all the time. If missing from the power of now, mind will be restless, depressed, dim and collect its habit in the subliminal consciousness. Sitting meditation… should not be too serious or inactive. But it is awaken, alive, and active to the senses of roughness and fineness of objects that contact with eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind. It should not construct thought and follow the stream of thought from form, taste, smell, sound, touch, and mind-object. It is mindful and it always returns to self. It does not concern about outside objects. When mind has dharma, with awareness and wisdom in seeing all compounded things as their reality, it is called…seeing things as they are. Mind has returned…to purity, sees the original nature before mind is bound by objects. When the purified mind is found, compassion and kindness to all sentient beings arise by itself naturally with no self attached to. It is the nature of mind that reflects those merits. When we appreciate this purified mind, we appreciate other people who can also find “this mind”. All sages will not be tired in helping people; especially, in supporting people who are subject to attain this delicate and hard to find state. Therefore, a sitting meditation even a short moment has an enormous value. The way of practice should be shared. It is beneficial to all even in this moment. And it can yield to the higher level which is … No birth – No death. Fb : Clearmind Zhao Ping , ชีวิตชีวาเซน-Lively Zen
