Sitting on Marti Steffens deck... The sense of utter peace...the lake reflecting occasionally as a cloud moves by....the quiet snuffling of Opie in his chair. Times have changed. Opie used to come crawl upon my lap or lay on me as I lay in the hammock or on the couch on the porch. Now he doesnt seem too interested.... Kinda like when Brandon Derrick was little....he wanted on my lap before bedtime and then his daddy would put him to bed and rub his back till he fell asleep. Times have most certainly changed today. My baby boy had the most beautiful wedding I could have ever imagined for him to have. Now he now longer holds my hand....he holds Malories hand. He will make new memories and walk new journeys with her. I thank each and every person that played a part in opening the next chapter of Brandons life. I have chosen to walk alone on many of my journeys..... but not this one...too many people to name and afraid Ill forget someone so just know I know who you are and I thank you and I love you. For without you todays wedding would not have been a success. Thank you Lord for this blessing... YOU sent the right people at the right time.... Thank you for the quiet.... for it makes me thankful for the past and hopeful for the future.
