Sitting on my back porch and thinking back, way back. Back to my little girl days in England. I stayed with my Mamaw and Papaw Smith a lot when I was real little, about 4 or 5, the age Kenzie is now. I remember my Mamaw use to go to bed at dark thirty, that meant in the winter time around 5:30!!! Lol!!! But on summer nights it was always about this time. My Mamaw and papaw slept in seperate beds and I always slept with my papaw. They would put a fan in one of the windows blowing outside and it would pull a nice breeze in the other windows. Papaw would lay down with me, me being beside the window but he would lay on my pillow and tell me stories. We would look up at the sky out the window and just talk. I miss those sweet tender days. Simple yeah but something I will never forget. As I spend time with Kenzie I try to show her Gods world and all the pretty flowers and trees and blue skies so she will remember sweet times with her Mamoo. And I will do this with Saxxen as she grows up. Life is so different now than it was back in those days but our babies hearts are still sweet, tender and innocent. Dont let the sweet moments pass you by. Enjoy every minute you can with your babies, no matter how big or how small. They are precious. Smell the roses with them. Teach them who God is, my Papaw did and Im so very thankful I had them in my life so many years. My Mamaw Mamie was my rock too. She carried me through so many lonely times when I was a tween and early teenager. My 3 grandparents were my protectors, my strength, my safe place, my everything. They were the perfect grandparents and I want to honor them tonight!!! I love you Mamaw, Papaw and Mamaw and I thank you for loving me the way you did. This night you are on my heart and mind so very much so I thought it would be fitting to give honor where honor is due. Yall taught me how to love my grand girls and I thank yall for that. Ive made a lot of mistakes but everything is finally falling into place so I know yall are in Heaven smiling down at your two beautiful great great grand girls and your 2 great grandsons!!! We love yall!!!
