Sitting thinking (for two days now) how when I was growing up we ate fresh. Fresh fruit, fresh meat, fresh milk. Fresh lard, fresh veggies, fresh butter and eggs. And I held onto the fresh as long as I could. I canned for several years. Lost the fresh meat and so forth. Then the canning went by the wayside because, well honestly, why bother when you could buy it?? Last year, I jumped back to the good old days with my girls and love the treasures they have provided. So much so, I find myself wanting more. So this year starts the fresh veggies (I am going to challenge myself with another backyard garden. Eating fresh was good and good for us, I truly believe that now more than ever. We were never sickly children and our elders were never sickly people. But I think comfort and ease has made us that way. I am looking forward to the fresh adventure... Bring it on, I am ready!!
