Sitting up for awhile, taking care of Donna. Shes really having a time of it with this bug and the Doc has her on some medicines to help her get over her cough. So, I thought Id take a second to post up a thought or two while she dozes. I have folks tell me from time to time that I need to be more open-minded, less strongly opinionated, more accepting of different points of view. I guess my response is pretty straight forward. Ill listen, and I mean Ill really listen and pay attention, as long as what Im hearing makes sense. When things sort of just get way out there and eccentric, Im done and move on. Also, when someone starts plowing the same ground Ive been over many times, Im done. And lastly, stupid and wrong-headed? Yep, done. I choose to keep a pretty narrow focus on what Im about. I find too much insincerity and intellectual dishonesty being allowed equal footing with reason and rational thought. Part of being a cranky old man is I get to do that and I enjoy having reached that time of life! Jim
