Sitting up with Mr. Jacques. Last evening when attempting a bowel movement he suddenly started crying and rushed in the house. Subsequent efforts same result. Lots of hind quarter stretching with his legs back. Since Ive dealt with it too many times with past Beagles, sure looks like a disc injury. Any attempt at back flexion necessary for a bowel movement causes pain. He was running like a maniac around the icy yard yesterday and I know he slipped pretty badly :( I gave him a Rimadyl last night and also some Pepcid because hes thrown up his dinner an hour ago, Im sure hes running out of room in there :( hes resting for now quietly. Hopefully the morning will bring some relief and prevent yet another vet bill. He could use some prayers !
