Situation Report #5 from Wisconsin EOC: With rain continuing over much of southern Wisconsin, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a series of Flood and Flash Flood watches and warnings. Here are the latest warnings and information as of noon today: Kenosha County- Fox River near New Munster. Sauk County-Baraboo River at Rock Springs and near Baraboo. County officials are encouraging residents to sandbag. Currently the Baraboo and the Wisconsin River are not at flood stage but officials worry that could change quickly with the heavy rains. Sandbags are available at the West Baraboo Highway Shop off Highway 12 and 136 in Baraboo. Trempealeau County-Trempealeau River at Dodge and Black River at Galesville. NWS forecasts more thunderstorm chances for southern Wisconsin tonight through Friday. Locally heavy rainfall is possible. Other Issues: Minor mudslide near Potosi. According to Grant County Emergency Management and 911 Dispatch, there was a minor mudslide in front of the Potosi Brewery at Highway 133 and South Main Street but the road is NOT closed. County highway crews are aware and are cleaning up the side of the roadway. Tuesday Storm Damage Update: Platteville: Five workers from DNR Parks, three from Facilities and Lands and 10 from Forestry are in Platteville to assist with chainsaw work clearing debris on city property and clearing access to residences for emergency vehicles. The request is for support Thursday and Friday. A Platteville Tornado Relief Fund has been established at Mound City Bank. A Multi-Agency Resource Center (Resident Assistance Center) has been established at the Platteville High School and is open until 4PM today and Friday Noon-7PM. Representatives of county agencies and disaster services agencies are available to assist residents that were affected by the flooding and currently have unmet needs. A public shelter has been established by the American Red Cross and Salvation Army at the Platteville High School. The shelter remains open and currently houses three people. Dane County: 158 homes were damaged during the storms/tornadoes, including two that were destroyed. Twelve businesses were also damaged during the storms. Dane County Emergency Management reports $10 million in damage to homes and businesses and over $4 million in damage to roads and debris removal. Green County: About 80 homes were damaged during the storms. Approximately $150,000 in reported damage to homes. Officials also report about $100,000 in debris removal costs. Damage assessments continue across the region. Power Outages: About 300 customers from various power companies serving southern Wisconsin remain without power.
