Six Pennies. Last year in the end of March, after I just had returned from my trip from sunny and hot S. E. Asia into the late and dreary days of late winter, a depression and loneliness settled in to my spirit. I kind of felt like Elijah after he had so powerfully done battle for The Lord with the priests of Baal. I needed a sign just then to know that God was truly with me, loved me. I very rarely ask for signs of God, but this time I ask God to let me find a penny in the parking lot of our little town super market, as a symbol of a hug for me! The market is not very far and I go there almost daily at times, for fresh things. That day I got in my car and drove the few minutes it took into the parking lot, opening the car door with great expectations, looking at the ground for that penny! To my disappointment I could not find a penny, and sadly I did my shopping and headed home. But I kept on praying that I would find a penny. The next day I went back to the store, and on parking I searched for the penny,but there wasnt one. By now I reproached myself for asking such a foolish thing of God! He had better things to do then put a penny on the ground in a little mid western town just to make me feel loved by Him! I repented that night and ask God for forgiveness. Well, the next day, not any longer expecting a penny but just doing my daily run to the store, I parked the car and stepped out; at that moment there right in front of me laid nicely in a row three pennies!! I gasped and let out a loud shout! He did love me! He made sure to know, and God placed a penny for each day since I had asked for one penny. My joy was so indescribable , I was flying high all day! My God cared for me enough to trouble Himself with pennies! But that is not the end of the story; I did an other run to the store one more time the next day, and as I was getting out of the car in the parking lot, to my surprise once more right in front of me neatly laid out in a row where three more pennies! What Love! Since then I have gone less to the store, and every time I find a penny , anywhere in the world,and it happens, I know who is reminding me that I am loved!
