Six Truths about God’s Word (Read Psalm 19:7-9) There are many things that God’s word is but for me these six as outlined by the Psalmist King David here really stand out. 1. It restores the soul (helps to make like new) – The spirit of man is reborn (recreated) through the “born again” experience (John 3:3), but the soul of man is “restored” (renewed) by The Word (Rom 12:2) 2. Makes the simple wise – The beginning of wisdom comes from the fear (reverence) of The Lord (Prov 1:7) and he who holds onto His Word will gain it (Prov 1: 4-6, Jas 1:5) 3. Rejoices the heart – Gives an inner peace and joy that is not dictated by outward circumstances (John 14:27, 16:33, Gal 5:22) 4. Gives enlightenment to the mind – Through Wisdom – the foundation, Understanding – the confirmation and Knowledge – the compensation (Prov 24:3-4) 5. It endures forever – All else will pass away but His Word will always remain (Luk 21:33) 6. Is true and righteous altogether – Exemplifies fairness and justice (Psa_119:75, 106, 137-138, 142, 160, 164) One more thing, this Word of God is God’s expression of Himself. The Word of God is Jesus Christ, the Living Word or the Living Logos! Do you know Him yet? Is He in you? Why not ask Him into your heart and then experience the six items shown above?
