Six-coach metro to run on Rithala Line from today News(24.11.2013)NEW DELHI: To facilitate passengers visiting the ongoing India International Trade Fair, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation today inducted its first six-coach train on Dilshad Garden–Rithala (Line 1). It will be the first of the 10 six-coach trains to be introduced on Line-1 in a phased manner. “The induction of this six-coach train has been preponed for Sunday for facilitating passengers visiting the Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan,” said DMRC Executive Director (Corporate Communications) Anuj Dayal. These trains will carry approximately 600 commuters more than the four-coach trains and boost the carrying capacity of the Line 1 from the present average rideship of around 3.5 lakh. Earlier, the DMRC had introduced six-coach trains on Lines 2 and 3. (Agencies)
