Six get life imprisonment in Swiss tourist gang-rape case BHOPAL: A special court in Datia district of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday imposed life imprisonment on six persons who had gangraped a Swiss national on March 15. Pronouncing the judgement, special judge Jitendra Kumar Sharma also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 each on all convicts. Those convicted were Rampro 23, Brijesh alias Gaja 24, Bhuta, 30, Hrishi alias Baba, 20, Bishnu, 25, Nitin, 22 - all residents of Kanjar Tola settlement in Jharia village, located 2 km from the spot where the victim was raped and 8km from the district headquarters. "All the accused have been convicted and we are satisfied with the judgement. We had made strong arguments in the court," said Rajendra Tiwari, public prosecutor in the case. The 39-year-old Swiss woman, on a cycling trip along with her companion, was gangraped at a forest area near Sewda road in Datia district on March 15. The couple, on adventure tourism in India, decided to camp at a forest area for the night while on their way back from Orchha (temple city), and were proceeding to Agra
