Six hours round trip driving time..five hours hiking time.. trail 9 (Eagle falls loop) at Cumberland Falls .. had wanted to see what the hype was about that trail (the most beautiful trail in Ky) It was the best trail I have ever been on anywhere. Loops around the cliffline above and below cumberland falls, bluffs echo the thundering sound of the falls. Cannot describe how amazing it was and photos cant do it justice. Eagle falls loop part of the trail takes to another little known falls below the cumberland. People were diving some thirty feet off the cliff to the deep pool below. Had to pull ourselves away and finish the fairly difficult portion.. all the while seeing signs of black bear and hoping we got out by dark. Wonderful day spent with youngest son before he heads back to campus. What a trip! Planning on returning come spring wildflower season
