Six months ago, my doctor expressed a concern about the calcium - TopicsExpress

Six months ago, my doctor expressed a concern about the calcium levels in my blood. I have had several tests since then, including one that indicated low bone density in my spine. Today, I underwent just over four hours of more testing, between a nuclear scan and an ultrasound. I dont have the results of the scan but the ultrasound indicated a large thyroid adenoma (generally benign) on one of my parathyroid glands and four small somethings on one of my thyroid glands. Surgery is the next step. Uncorrected, it would lead to osteoporosis. For you ladies especially, who are menopausal, be sure to have your doctor include calcium when you get your blood drawn. Get blood work done every year and also ask for vitamin D levels. Thank you for your prayers. Love and gratitude. The following is a link to the risk factors: three of which are pertinent to my situation.
