Six years back when I was appointed MD of Nepal Airlines, I was excited when I came to know about plan of Tourism Ministry about international standard Nijgadh airport and fast track linking with Kathmandu. Due to cumbersome processes and process-oriented work-culture inherent in Nepalese bureaucracy plus no decision means less risk attitude of decision-makers, the project is still in limbo. Of course, our politicians think that these are small issues compared to bigger issues of constitution, party politics, party interest, vote-gathering tricks etc.
