Sixth grader Patrick Dunn’s STEM Day project was about robotics. One of the goals of his project was to highlight our new robotics program by extending his learning to create a robot that has the capability to perform a task which would mimic, in some small way, how robots can help them human society. Patrick’s project modified the VEX IQ robot system to be able to carry a beverage to someone (Video Here: youtu.be/TE9shiR7Kc0 ). As further demonstration of STEM topics, Patrick invited a DEKA representative to demonstrate the new prostheis Robotic Arm. Deka electrical engineer, Ilya Karnauk, (pictured here) visited the SBA fair and showed the students how the Robotic arm worked.
