Sixty Years Ago - December 4, 1954 – Tulane’s last 60-Minute Man named to Senior Bowl – Eddie Bravo, an end for the Tulane Green Wave, was selected to play in the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. The former St.Aloysius (Brother Martin) High School graduate was the last Tulane player to play offense, defense, and yes, special teams. The team captain caught 55 passes for 618 yards and three touchdowns, during his four-year career, for the run-oriented Wave. On defense he recovered fumbles, intercepted passes and accounted for numerous tackles. Bravo was also picked to participate in the annual Blue-Gray All-Star Classic. LSU’s outstanding tackle Sid Fournet was named to the South squad, likewise. Eddie’s brother Lou played basketball for the Loyola Wolfpack before transferring to Ambrose College in Iowa to play football. Before finally returning to New Orleans to finish college at Tulane, he spent three years in the Army and received the Bronze Star for Bravery in action during the Korean War.
