Skippers Alley debut in Dolans on Wednesday November 26th. Tickets are €8/5 and available from dolans.ie. They are a young 7-piece band specialising in traditional Irish music and song. Based in Dublin, Ireland, the group released their debut EP in the summer of 2013 to frequent radio play and critical acclaim.In August, the band then competed at the Festival Interceltique de Lorient where, after five successful performances, they were awarded the Loic Raison Trophy, previously won by such groups as The Bothy Band, Clannad and Danú. Really great stuff! -The Rolling Wave, RTÉ Radio One Currently, Skippers Alley prepare for their debut album which will be released towards the end of 2014. This year has seen the band perform on several platforms, including Temple Bar Trad Fest, The Irish Embassy in Zambia and The Late Late Show, and will also see the band appear on various others such as Southwell Folk Festival, Marymass Irvine, as well as a return to the Festival Interceltique de Lorient. I was very impressed with the unique sound...
