Skipping Breakfast May Be Linked to Heart Disease Eating breakfast is a common diet guideline used to promote good health; for example, it helps regulate blood sugar and has been show to aide with weight loss. However, new research shows that skipping breakfast may also be linked to increased heart disease in men. The study, which was published in the journal, Circulation, found that men who skipped breakfast had a 27 percent higher risk of heart disease than those who ate breakfast. The study had many limitations, but the take home message is that what you eat and when you eat may be important to heart health.
