Slaughter houses must be banned ************************************* I fully support the concern of Mrs. Maneka Gandhi, and strongly demand that all the automatic slaughter houses in the country must be banned immediately, as they are playing havoc with the animals. Though the issue is not related to a particular community, but it is a fact that majority of these slaughter houses are owned by non-Muslims, and as I recollect, once some Jains were caught for the trade of cow tallow.Many times ‘ Ghosi’ and ‘Gaddi’ associations who are engaged in the milk trade have also demanded the closure of these slaughter houses because of the slaughter of young buffaloes etc., leading to the acute shortage of milk in the country, and the adverse impact on their livelihood. Recently there was a news that in Rajasthan or Madhya Pradesh Assembly, the lone Muslim member moved a private bill seeking ban on cow slaughter, but it was struck down by the house. Why? It is going into terrorism, it is going into bomb making. It is going into killing us. Why we are allowing this? It is a trade of Indians. Do not blame a particular community for this, she claimed.)
