Slave Trade n slavery has got to be the worst thing ever to happen. I was watching 12 years as a slave last nite. Its a true story 2013 British-American historical drama film and an adaptation of the 1853 slave narrative memoir Twelve Years a Slave by Solomon Northup, a New York State-born free African-American man who was kidnapped in Washington, D.C. in 1841 and sold into slavery. Northup worked on plantations in the state of Louisiana for twelve years before his release. I must say I was traumatised by the torture, the humiliation of fathers,mothers,kids n grand dads bathing together in open space n walking stark naked in front of the masters family and arbitrary arrests, unexplained incaceration and the diabolic acts of torture faced by slaves under the hands of gruesome,heartless and evil men of lighter colour who believed that being black was a curse n a black man was born to be subjected to any form of torture n could be belittled willy nilly at any given time. Jah neh thanx God for the words like reconciliation,forgiveness and rainbow nations...
