Sled Tips for building acceleration. 1. Keep the weight of the sled light(you should still be able to run fast). 2. Keep the distances short(10-20 yards). 3. Start with a good forward lean and keep that angle as you build up speed. 4. Make sure you take full rest periods between reps (20-30 seconds for 10 yards, 40-60 sec for 20 yards) and 3-5 minutes between sets. 5.
