Sleep Apena He woke up, as most, in the morning, are was it early in another time of the day. The Rasta Man was there. Hey, what up? Oh, you are a waking dream. Shuck his head and Rasta went back to Jamaica. For a year, he slept backwards, feet where the head should be and visa vasa. Just another day. He got up and went to the barn, knowing, he did not the night before finish his pick list. “Hey”, to the echoes, “I got enough done so she got stock to work with” . He didn’t care about rules of grammer. Left to his own work, nobody, caught him is thirty/forty fade out. There was so much work and shows and display and on and on. He had been trying to figure out those lost moments. Doing invoicing and computer work, he noticed, time to time and would say amongst him and his selfs, “What happened, I just was doing and now, it’s not there”. Ya, ya da, your just tried, he needed a vacation. Canada and family is only 450 miles away, 9 hours. So, a little break, he goes to Canada. It only took 12 hours. He could not drive further than the next rest stop. Hey, he made and now he could find the rest he needed. Ten days later, time to go home to the farm. Twelve hours and he was home. He went into the early summer and worked and after a couple of months, gained almost fifty lbs. (once again I remind the reader, grammer like his world, is shaky). Word of a buddy, years ago, creep to his frontal lobe, briefly, sleep apnea, but what was happening. His love of his life, didn’t know. Drink gave no peace. His doctor, finally, said “you need a sleep test, over night with wires on your head”. He went. Nice bed, not even Motel 4. They told him go to sleep, your wired. They tested and move a finger, move a toe, blink your right eye and on and on. They would wake him in the morning with results. Lab guys woke him. He thought, as usual, short night. It was only an hour and the half. In that time, he had stopped breathing a 152 times. Do the math. For years and that night, he only slept, less than a minute, 30 seconds at times. Lab guys put a cpap machine on his face. He slept for the first time in years. When they woke him, he thought he had sunk thru the bed Well that machine saved his life. Snoring might be annoying, but lack of sleep, the body retains fluids and more important around the heart. That is the beginning of his story. Oh, he still is nuts.
