Sleeping at the Museum of Natural History tonight!!!! You guys... I have never been so excited about an event before. This is a childhood bucketlist item I am checking off stemming from an early obsession with From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler (awesome book!). My night tonight: The overnight adventure will begin with a champagne reception and music provided by the 12th Night Jazz trio in the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Hall. Explorers can expect to roam through the nearly empty halls of the Museum, where they might run into a herd of elephants in the Akeley Hall of African Mammals or come face to face with looming dinosaur skeletons, including a 65-million-year-old Tyrannosaurs rex. Participants will be invited to attend a special presentation in The Power of Poison exhibition with Curator Mark Siddall. They can also visit Spiders Alive! and see more than 20 species of live arachnids or escape the earth with a midnight viewing of the Dark Universe Space Show, which is narrated by Neil deGrasse Tyson. As the evening winds down, guests will be able to unroll their sleeping bags and curl up under the beloved 94-foot-long blue whale in the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life. Bringing the Sony A7S (wooo! what better time to use it for the first time?) and taking lots of video and photos. Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *jumps up and down from excitement* Will be updating my Twitter, Instagram, and possibly here...a lot. Apologies in advance. Hah.
