Sleiman set to visit Saudi Arabia this week for talks on region November 04, 2013 12:28 AM The Daily Star BEIRUT: President Michel Sleiman is due to visit Saudi Arabia this week for talks with senior Saudi officials on the political crisis in Lebanon and developments in the Arab world, particularly the 31-month war in Syria, ministerial sources said Sunday. “The president’s visit to Saudi Arabia, which had previously been postponed, is likely to take place this week,” caretaker Environment Minister Nazem Khoury told The Daily Star. “Saudi Arabia is playing a role in Lebanon, supporting its security and stability.” The seven-month-long Cabinet crisis as well as national divisions over the war in Syria and the repercussions of the conflict in the neighboring country on Lebanon’s security and stability will figure high in Sleiman’s talks with King Abdullah and other senior Saudi officials, political sources said.
