Slept to Clickety-clack Sounds! As far as I can remember from my boyhood, I never needed music or sounds played on a stereo in order to fall asleep. Even today, I don’t have any problems going to sleep. Just last Saturday, I wanted to test if I could simulate the effect of sleeping overnight in a moving train. The last time I traveled on an overnight train was 11 years ago. I miss so much from sleeping in an overnight train such as: the quiet of the night; the throttle sounds of the diesel locomotive or revving up sounds of the electric locomotive; horns from the locomotive; and carriage sounds. On youtube, I found an 8 hour video of carriage sounds with occasional locomotive horns. I got myself a set of noise reducing stereo headphones (i.e. those that a DJ would wear). At midnight, I went to bed and hence began my experiment. Just like with normal train travel, I noticed times when I would wake up to sounds of the carriage after several intervals of sleep. The only thing missing was the inertia. Since my ears were plugged to train sounds, I saw a dream of myself looking out the window of a moving train. The train was on a curve and I could see the engine and also the rear end. youtube/watch?v=8oVTXSntnA0
