Slick and Flicka Update: (Let me first mention that I told Shelley I was worried about Slick and the holidays and that he would need a quiet place for himself to retreat to since a lot of activity overwhelms him. Well, lets just say, boy was I wrong and gladly so). Hi, I thought of you throughout the holidays because you would be just thrilled at these amazing dogs. They are so much more then described. Independent? Hardly. Its just sweet. They stay with us all the time. I have to be careful not to step on them as they are right underfoot as I am cooking in the kitchen. They follow us from room to room. Upstairs. Downstairs. Even Slick. And so much for the giant play pen. They have no interest in being out there on their own. If we are out there with them thats fine but if we just let them out to be out there on their own they sit peering through the door to come back in and be with their pack. Those pretty sunny days after Christmas we sat out with them and then they were happy. Anxious? Not! We had 12 people coming over Christmas Eve and were prepared for Slick to have a quiet place and Flicka, too, if need be. The attached picture says it all. They were in the thick of it all night and wouldnt have it any other way. They just were so good with everyone they just blew us away. Our friends and family have been so welcoming to them. They got all sorts of Christmas presents, from gourmet treats to a bunch of new toys. The funniest was from our nephew and his fiancé. They brought a furry centipede with them all the way from Charleston. Each segment has a squeaker and they are crazy for it. You should be so pleased that they are doing great. Eating well and loving the big yard. They are behaving beautifully. They are just a joy! We are so lucky to be able to take care of them. Shelley & J If you ever question or find it hard to go on doing what you do remember this is why you do this. You completely and totally changed their lives. We are so grateful for you. Happy New Year to you and Bo. We wish you all good things in the new year. xo Shelley
