Slightly left from the center, where the little figure of the man - TopicsExpress

Slightly left from the center, where the little figure of the man is standing is where there extends a corridor which witnessed victory laps of trying to get the prized attendance before the room towards the end was shut lock. A staircase is present towards the left side of the pillars was where fellow mates waited for delayed classes or busy faces stared at laptop screens to sort their print outs to be done by the Xerox shop. Inside which skinny men with healthy hair growth on their scalps would be shuffling and stapling papers while blaring out Gujrati music. The garden in the centre had a group of small, stony, slopes from where leaps were taken in the name of photography, to capture that perfect of elevation that subliminally signified the freedom that we enjoyed. The staircase right after the garden was where hurried feet would jump and leap to reach the classrooms downstairs. Classrooms that were tucked away inside from the hustle bustle upstairs, where sessions for specializations were held. The long staircase dropping on the right side is where excited minds ran to rooms filled with studio equipment. Where the major agendas were getting the perfect shot or recording the perfect radio spot. Campus rockers occupied a fully loaded studio somewhere downstairs, and tried to get their riffs, licks, rolls right. From where the photograph is taken is where another corridor leads to a group of rooms; among them was a dark room which projected the lesser known treasures of great movies in front of our curious eyes, and made us walk out with mesmerized expressions on our faces. A little inside the same corridor, there were rooms from which smiling faces of teachers peeked out every time you passed by and backpacked students headed to a room full of computers, to get their citations right and their dissertations sorted. You see, I can say so much just about this one picture. It’s a very minute fragment of a whole different world that SIMC was. A world we created, cherished and now miss.
