Smash Bros characters were decided at the start of development That means Greninja was chosen before X and Y released X and Y pokemon were made including Megas Mega Blaziken was one of the first Megas shown, there was even a Torchic event Gamefreak released Mega Blaziken to hint at ORAS Mega Swampert and Mega Sceptile were made long before their reveal Pikachu, Lucario, Charizard, and Greninja If Jigglypuff is coming back (most likely) then thats 5 pokemon Add in Sceptile and thats 6 pokemon, referencing how you can only have 6 pokemon maximum on your team Charizard to represent Fire type starter and good ol 1st Gen Greninja to represent Water type master race and 6th Gen Sceptile to represent Grass type and build hype for 3rd Gen remake tl;dr SCEPTILE IS CUTTING THROUGH
