Smiths Falls Camera Club November 13th, Meeting summary; It was nice to see some new faces at the meeting this month. We had a total of 8 members with us last night. Old items; we paid for the gas used on the last outing and that was approved at the September meeting. New items; we talked about moving the meeting room at the high school from the art and craft room to a normal classroom. The space has yet to be paid for, and if we cant be moved to another room we will have to vote on if we will continue to use the arts and craft room or try to find a different location. Reasons for the move to a different room includes; easier to find and comfort (complaints have been made about the stools). Amie (me) offered to call the Board if our President (Bill) isnt able to in the next few days. Cheryl will be updating the meeting information on the Facebook page as soon as we know there is a change for sure. We talked about future field trips and other ways to use the money that is siting the club account (apx. balance of $1000). Nothing has been voted on as of right now. Looking for more suggestions - so dont be shy! We did get the suggestion of Parc Omega (parcomega.ca/en/) We started a new photography challenge. The challenge rules are; 1. No posting images for the challenge on the Facebook page until after the December 11th meeting. 2. Images are to be of Utensils - forks, knifes and/or spoons. 3. Attempt to make an average item found around the house into an interesting photograph. Think- new angles, rule of thirds, leading lines, etc. Make it as interesting as you can make it. We will be showing off the images at the next meeting. Mike brought in a box full of photography magazines for everyone to borrow and read. A wealth of knowledge there. It was decided that all the extra magazines will be left at the WMD studio in town for anyone to drop in and have a look and exchange. I believe that covers everything that was covered at the meeting - please let me know if I missed something. And lastly thank you to those that brought in photos to share - beautiful as always!
