Snapshot....15 1. Slapping women by Police is a very tiny issue. The police all over India commit even much bigger jobs of such bravery on women. The only difference is that a very few are caught on camera and are suspended and the most are not. The police also torture those innocent and helpless prisoners who are in their custody. Richer the prisioner, more they torture to get higher the monies for not committing tortures. Torture is always third degree not to extract information, but to extort moneys. Many times such tortures even result in birth of anti- socials like Phulan Devi. It is an open secret and is known to almost all. But no politician is serious and sincere about improving the things. When ever a politician is taken in custody (which is a rare occurrence), I feel happy in the hope that some change shall be there but the moment he is released and he sits on Kurasi, he again forgets everything. So sad! 2.Shinde unfit to be Home Minister- RK Singh, ex-Home Secretary. GOI I agree with Mr. RK singh. After all Mr. shindes career had taken birth as a constable of Police. How could his mentality, attitude and perception change and how could had he been elevated to his todays status had he been honest. He would have been sacked much earlier in his initial days of career had he not obliged his seniors by paying moneys in the channel by exploiting the helpless innocents and by helping the mafias and antisocials, as all others have/ had to do. 3.West Bengal Govt , suo motto, ex-parte, without notice or hearing to the heirs, decided to convert Netaji Subhash Chandra Boses ancestral home in South 24 Paragana into a heritage building and museum and making forced entries without permission and taking away the old photographs without permission is not very strange in this country as the Govt and the Govt officers think that they are superman and above law and that they can do any nonesense as per their whims and fancies. This incident is not an exception but a rule ( rather a misrule) in this country and we, the aam adami, have no alternative but to bear with these excesses as the justice, if sought from the courts of law, shall be more tidious, more expensive, more harrassing, more bothersome and ultimately, it shall turn out to be a case of justice delayed and denied. 4. Ek machhali sare talab ko ganda kar sakati hai. Now not only the AAP but the entire country may have to bear the burnt of the blunder in selecting AAP candidates from amongst the old politicians in whose blood corruption and greed for kurasi is deep rooted and cant be weeded out. Look at the news today- AAP MLA upset with Kejriwal government, likely to get party notice Rupashree Nanda CNN-IBN | 15-Jan-2014 11:39 AM New Delhi: There are signs of a possible rebellion within the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi. AAP MLA Vinod Kumar Binny has expressed unhappiness with the Arvind Kejriwal government saying it has failed to deliver on its promises. The AAP is likely to serve him a notice, say sources. The government is not fulfilling the promises we made to the people. There is a large difference between what was said and what is being done. We will hold a press conference on this tomorrow so as to let the people know of our displeasure. These things shouldnt stay behind closed doors, Binny said. Binny was reportedly denied a portfolio in the AAPs Delhi Cabinet. Binny and AAP had back then downplayed rumours of a rift within the party. They may be having a different role for me. My meeting with Kumar Vishwas was a routine meeting. We are not here to become ministers and CM. We are here to serve the country, Binny had said then. Once a Congress leader, Binny had joined AAP after participating in the Jan Lokpal movement. Binny is now a part of the 9-member political affairs committee of the Aam Aadmi Party. 5. It was definitely a mistake on the part of Salman Khurshids Govt to appoint a person as Home Secretary who didnt prove to be a yesman for all the time to come. News is - New Delhi: Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid has said it was his governments mistake to appoint RK Singh as Home Secretary, who has launched a biting attack on Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde. (Home Minister lied on Dawood Ibrahim, says RK Singh) Were wedded to a system where seniority and regional representations matter. And some people slip in who should not be in that office, Mr Khurshid told NDTV in an exclusive interview. (Watch) I think RK Singh shouldve gone on national TV and said the UPA government made a mistake in choosing me as Home Secretary. Mr Singh, who recently joined the BJP and is expected to contest the national election from Bihar, has leveled a slew of politically explosive allegations against his former boss, Mr Shinde, including that he lied that the US is working with India to catch underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. (Shinde engulfed by Dawood controversy) Im not prepared to believe a shred of this. RK Singh was a classmate of mine. I never had a great impression about his intellect, Mr Khurshid said. The Congress has accused the former bureaucrat of opportunism, and alleged that he had angled for a post-retirement job. Mr Khurshid questioned, Why didnt he resign then, if he felt things were so terribly wrong? How come he suddenly gets all this wisdom after he retires and joins the BJP? Good luck to him that he wants to get into politics. I hope hes a little more honest and more faithful to the masters hell serve now than he was to the masters he served in the past. The Foreign Minister blamed Mr Singh for the disaster in the case against two Italian marines accused of killing two fishermen off Kerala coast in 2012. Hes the one who decided that Suppression of Unlawful Activities Act Navigation should be imposed, which gives a compulsory death sentence to two marines. They may have exceeded their duties but they were not terrorists, Mr Khurshid said. We could simply have had a trial and told the Italians that the marines were guilty or not guilty. The case sparked a major diplomatic row between the two countries when Rome refused to return the marines until India assured that the pair would not face the death penalty.
