Snapshot Video: Lesson Five - SWIM DIVE. Huge progress today, I think I am a little too excited about what this little dog learned. Took Rivets, The Portuguese Water Dog, from the pool to the lake this afternoon to work on our swim dive. This is her first time being asked to swim dive in the lake. She has done head dunks from a stand position in shallow water and head dunks from a swim position in the pool. WATCH HER LEARN TO DO A FULL BODY DIVE TODAY! We are in about 30 inches of water and the article is about six inches below the surface. Visibility is a moderate challenge. The advantage here is the dog can touch bottom if she remains on her toes. At this point in her training this may have been what gave her the confidence to do a full submersion.
