Snow is expected down to 1500 ft. with accumulations of 2-4 inches at 2000 ft. and above with greater accumulations at higher elevations. Nighttime low temperatures will be in the low 20s (-10 C). Rain and snow showers will begin early Wednesday morning, changing to all snow Wednesday afternoon and tapering off by Thursday morning. Visitors to the park should be prepared for winter driving conditions and plan on having additional food, water and dry clothes. In the event of heavy snow, drivers should have chains or traction devices for their vehicles. The Keys View Road will likely be closed early on Wednesday morning. Backcountry campers in this area should plan on using an alternative backcountry registration station and have sufficient equipment and provisions for snow camping. Park rangers may close all roads at higher elevations and visitors should expect slick road conditions and low visibility while traveling inside the park. Campers should ensure that they have sufficient supplies in the event that they cannot leave their site for two to three days.
