Snowdonia Marathon Training Update. I am now into week 5 of a 12 week training programme. Weekly mileage is now up to 35, the pace is not as good as my training earlier in the year for my 1st marathon, but I am not too worried about this. To be honest I would just like to finish this one, at mile 21 to 22 there is a climb of 1200ft. Despite straining my groin at last weekend’s Veterans football match I have still been able to run as I need to be building up the mileage, any twisting though is very painful. To remind you, I am running two marathons this year to help raise money for a young footballer in my under 11 team who has cerebral palsy in his legs. He needs to raise money for an operation not funded by the NHS to help him walk and play games just like his identical twin brother. Over £20,000 has been raised so far towards the £35,000 target which really is amazing support shown SO FAR! There are a number of people working extremely hard to give this boy a better life.
