Snuffed I met you When your light Burned small Yet burned - TopicsExpress

Snuffed I met you When your light Burned small Yet burned bright It lit up your smile And everyone could see You were born to shine. He saw it too. He must have. There is no way he could have missed it. There was no way he could resist it. Perhaps thats why He could insist it Burn lower Burn slower Hide under cover Never see the light of day. Perhaps thats why he tried And tried to snuff it out. Snuff. The word is abrupt With a voice suppressed, The air shut off Cut off From Everyone and everything But him And his drama. Snuff. Snuff. Once was not enough But, eventually, Puff. Gone, the girl that once was: The dreamer, The doer, The well make it through-er The sunshine, The laughter, The joy. Oh, mourn the joy That withered in the face Of a too-patient patience The existence of a martyr To a dying cause. But pause: Maybe, Just maybe, Your light flickers still In spite of the winds Blowing in from all sides. My heart breaks Then releases And I whisper a prayer That your light Yet shines forth That your candle still burns, That, one day, youll see The Light for whom you still yearn.
