So - we are waiting to meet with more docs tomorrow. Dad is exhausted, but we got to spend some time with him today. The ulcer that was causing him to bleed out is evidently very bad. They said it could start bleeding again at any time and if it does, there is nothing more they can do. They said if he was a healthy person, they think with time the ulcer could heal, but because of the acute leukemia it will be very difficult. With that said - it is not entirely impossible. The docs are once again surprised by dad and his resilience. They thought there was little hanse he would survive the weekend and yet today he was smiling and asking for ice-cream. He is in pretty rough shape, but he said he wants to keep fighting. Like I said - it will be a huge uphill battle, but hasnt it always been? We will work our hardest to get him home. He does not want to give up, but if he is going to pass, he doesnt want to here. The goal is to get him home as soon as he is stable enough to travel and to continue on the trial drug for his leukemia. I will keep you all posted. Thank you for all of your continued support.
