So 10 years ago this time my life was so mixed up. Jimmy & I had just found each other again at the first of September and started dating. Then around this time of the month I started getting strange phone calls. We didnt watch the news because Jamie was in Iraq & any news from there freaked the kids out. So when I started gettin calls from the Kansas City police askin questions about my cousin/sister/best friend Nellie I had no idea what was goin on. It was 3 days of calls before I knew what was goin on, they were findin womens bodies around Prospect Avenue & thought Nellie might be one of them. I was so lost, happy about Jimmy but sad/confused/lost about everything with Nellie. We hadnt heard from her in months, she lived in the city, & she had gotten into some really bad stuff. On September 20th uncle Allen & aunt Rosie took a brush up for DNA testing. They saw the police bring out another body, on the 27th we found out it was Nellie. Then on the 28th James Ray was hurt in a truck explosion in Iraq. So if I seem distant or cranky this month Im sorry but now you know why.
