So! 2015 is here. Hope it finds you all very well and searching for the hope promised on New Years Eve. Lets hope that it is realised. I left 2014, with it once again taking something from me; I had a £50 guitar stand nicked from a charity gig, I was playing lead guitar in (as a favour and for free) - the gig was for the Masons - mainly ex-coppers! What can you say? At least some money was raised for a good cause. I am starting the new year with changed work patterns; so plenty of work to do with the great kids at the schools I work at. Always a highlight and a great reason to get up every day. My two Blue Light Taxii brothers, Murt Anthony Walsh and Neil Smiffy Smith are fully fired up for hitting the road in 2015, although the PA we use is in need of some TLC........or screwdrivers, multi-meters and the odd hammer blow. Im sure it will be loud and proud when were done with it. Murt has a Cajon and is quietly threatening to use it.......which he should. Murt is also the keeper of the Sheltone Companion which is currently just a mythical thing to most people............but Smiffy and I have seen it; it does exist and works. Jim Randle appears to be the favoured pilot of this musical chariot (although Piano Pete is also in the frame). It may well make it to a gig, yet. So look out for the bastard child of a Rhodes piano and Bontempi organ, played by one of the splendid, ivory tinkling, nut cases that we know. My resolution is to use less talent boosting bollocks - effects pedals - live and just play straight. So expect some catastrophic results from that ;-) I believe we will be joining Moose Rosser throughout the year at various events, so those of you with a folky bent please come along. These occasions are always creative and fun to be around. The musicianship on display is often superb and then there is Moose, himself. A laugh is never far away. There are some recording projects in the pipeline and the feint possibility of some theatre work in November. I will wait to see what happens on these fronts. So, onward! Happy new year. Lets get on with it, eh?!
