So 30 years ago today.... I was 2 years away from having the best thing in the world happen.. my wonderful son Cody Delong was born.. cody has been the light in my what would seem almost pitch black life.. he has always been and remains to be a great inspiration to me. most people dont know half the struggles I have put him through.. like living in our car and walking the streets in the fog all nite cause we had nowhere else to go. One of my favorite memories of his kindness was when he was about 5. We lived in a horrible motel. And he had a fever of 105 he was bad I had to call 911 and I was so scared knowing he could be taken away if I didnt have a stable home for him. Anyway. After the hospital released us in the cold dark nite I only had 1.50 on me and I knew he hadnt had anything to drink or eat in a while so we walked to 711 and I said lets get u a hot choclate to keep you warm.. to which he replied..no mama you have stayed up with me all nite and now you have to carry me I want you to have coffee for energy oh I hugged him so tight and I got him his hot choclate and explained we will share. Nobody knows the struggles and pain this man endured as a child.. and what he has done for my soul. And Im so proud of the man he has turned out to be.. his twin beautiful babies his wonderful soon to be wife. His job that he has had for 9 years. And all his small victories through the years despite his mom.. cody it is with tears of love and pride I am writing this. I love you son you make me proud. You are a good son an excellent father and you will make jen so happy cause you give all your heart to everything you do.. I love you son Happy 28th. birthday. And may your wishes and dreams come true.. love mom
