So 9 yrs ago today I met the person who became my best friend,confidant,partner in crime,cheerleader and my saving grace.The moment I held her in my arms and looked down at that winkled face and those deep brown eyes my heart began to fill with so much love,I felt as though it would burst out of my chest.Tears of joy poured out of my eyes as I stared down at the most beautiful creature I had ever seen.The first time I had her all to myself in the hospital I walked nervously around the room cradling her and the song"The Reason"by hoobastank began to play.My eyes again began to well up with tears as the words "I found a reason to be,to change who I used to be.The reason to start over new and the reason is you," came out of my mouth as I rocked her and layed my head against her cheek.Even then she comforted me as she does now when her little hand reached up and brushed against my cheek.Everyday I grow more and more proud of the person she is becoming.Her crazy sense of humor,unfaultering ability to see good in all situations,her intelligance and her unwaivering need to make all fair in the world.My baby puffin Layla June is 9 yrs old today and I feel so honered that I was given the precious gift of being her mom.She makes me want to better myself and be all that she sees me to be.She saved me from myself and was the start of the family that I hold more and more dearly with each passing day.I couldnt imagine my life without her and am so very proud she calls me mom.Happy birthday Miss layla.
