So A few months ago I started seeing an endocrinologist to see if they could shed some light on a couple of minor things I had going on. She immediately began checking my thyroid. An ultrasound showed some nodules that had some coloring on them that were a little worrisome. A biopsy came back without answers. They suggested that we take out that half of my thyroid, test it and if it came back with negative results, we would go back in and take the rest of the thyroid out. Daniel and I immediately knew we didnt want to go through this twice and opted to have it removed all at once. So last Friday, I went into surgery to have my thyroid removed. Everything went great! This morning I began having numbness in different parts of my body and severe muscle spasms. A trip to the Dr showed that my calcium levels are pretty low(not uncommon for the after effects with this surgery) so with all of this under control the Dr told me that they did another biopsy on my thyroid, and it is in fact cancer. She believes they have removed most, if not all of it and we will continue to monitor. Her concern now is that with a young healthy body, cancer cells that may have (or may not have) detached themselves from the source like to find more comfy spots to hang out. Well this is how she explained it to me. We have an apt on the 24th to discuss what happens next if anything. Thank you in advanced for the prayers!Marjorie Woodall, Troy R Woodall
