So Akwasi Appiah was supposed to work miracles even when the FA and its management commitee have consistently shown gross incompetent in managing the blackstars? The incompetent management committee is still intact and the entire country seems to have forgotten the poor travel arrangements and accomodation issues some players complained about. Coupled with issues of player bonuses such that players had to queue late into the night to collect their appearance fees on the eve of a crucial match. Training was boycotted as a result. Not to forget how blows were exchanged between an official and a player. Then people say Akwasi lacks the ability to control the players. I just ask, how are all these things any of Akwasi Appiahs fault? The issues that led to our embarrassing exit from the World Cup in Brazil had little to do with Akwasi Appiah and more to do with a poorly managed team. Akwasi sanctions players for misconduct and the powers that be go and apologize privately to the players for them to be reinstated into the team and when these guys misbehave we turn around to critisize Akwasi for his inability to control them? Above all, the manner in which this whole thing has been handled just epitomises their gross incompetence. Typical PR backfire. Akwasi reportedly had to personally walk into the FA presidents office today to corroborate reports that he has been sacked. This FA is a joke and the earlier it is checked the better for our football.
