So All Hallows Eve has just passed, and I thought I would approach - TopicsExpress

So All Hallows Eve has just passed, and I thought I would approach one of the great spooky tales in poetry; E.A. Poes The Raven. A narrative poem following a man crumbling from despair at the loss of his love who is haunted by a bird of ill fortune, who takes on many shapes and meanings within the narrators mind as the poem progesses; it is an American masterpiece. At the same time as enjoying the original though it gives me a chance to explore the retellings that have been produced of it, and the many ways that it is possible to tell a tale when presented in the poetic form; mdia variance as well as performance style go a long way. My first contact with the Raven came from a The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror when I was but a weeun, so I had to include it here: vimeo/29733360 But recently I have also seen this awesome rendition by one of my favourite webcomics, Weregeek: weregeek/2014/10/20/ And finally a presentaation with no visual stimulus, just the words and sounds of the recording leaing your imagination to fill the gaps (also Christopher Walken): https://youtube/watch?v=cLSmhpwLdEQ
