So! As Ian said earlier, we have not announced the One-stage tournament. Well now we have! This will be on showdown, starting Saturday August 2nd, at 12pm. Signups will be up later this weekend. And now, for the rules. I caps locked the important bits. 1.) POKEMON MUST NOT BE PART OF AN EVOLUTIONARY LINE. Refer to this list: bit.ly/1ooA7qS ^Before people ask, we will be allowing Phione as a non-legendary single-stage pokemon. Deal widdit. 2.) There can only be ONE LEGENDARY POKEMON PER TEAM. With slightly less to choose from, without a limit many of the good teams would be mostly legends. This way you can use your big scary monstahs, but must be picky when selecting your one and only legend. Also, Id assume youd read rule #6, but STILL NO F***CKING UBERS. I will autoban any Xerneas users I see in this tourney :P 3.) NO MEGAS. As I said earlier, limited selection and some weak pokes means we dont want lopsided teams (not AS lopsided, anyway) 4.) ROTOM CANNOT USE OR HAVE VOLT SWITCH. There are very very few pokemon who are immune to volt switch, notably the polarity rats and Emolga and ground-type legends, and they do not take Overheats or Hydro Pumps very well. The nerf to Rotom we believe will encourage use of more varied electric types. We dont want to see appliances on every team (thought my love for Rotom-Mow may still sway my tender heart). 5) ITEM CLAUSE IS UP. Dont use two of the same item. Simple enough. 6) OTHERWISE OU RULES, species clause and all other current OU bans are in effect. Swagkeys is still not a thing. Same with Kyogre. So, I think thisll be a strange, zany playstyle, definitely focused around a single game plan per team and having the whole team dedicated towards it. The role most likely will be defined by your choice of legendary, and we honestly have no idea how this will turn out. Enjoy yourselves, make some crazy teams, and have fun! :D PS. Please no salt about Smeargle or Sableye mid or post-tournament. We kept them in because they can be dealt with, and theres a pretty decent selection of grass types in the tier (compared to types like water or fire anyway). Be prepared for spores and prankster randomness, and remember that both of these pokemon are easily broken if played against smartly.
