So! As of last night, we got the order to move Steve off of ICU to SCU (special care unit). Bc he doesnt need intensive care anymore. I called this morning & hes still there, but only bc hes waiting for an open bed.. Yesterday, hes still very confused, but not near what he was the day before. & hes much calmer (giving him meds to help his anxiety a little). He knew he is in a hospital, even remembered which one. He knew the year once, but then it was spotty the next few times, but only being off hair (said 2013 a lot). Was way off on the month. He got the president right & didnt even sneer.. :) However knowing hes in the hospital, he hasnt a clue why. & hes very upset with me bc I wont go get him some pants so he can go home.. He ate applesauce on his own & drank from a cup, then with a straw.. I havent spoken with plastic surgery yet. Theyre on board & are ready for him, but theres nothing immediate they can do until more swelling goes down. His left eye is great! 20/25 (near perfect). But his right eye probably wont ever be right. Hes damaged a lot of muscle & severed some nerves. They said it may be possible to fix it, but theres simply too much swelling behind it to know. They said within 6 months, well get a better picture (which is all really low on MY totem pole. It WILL matter to him though). I will let everyone know when & where hes moved to. More than likely today.. :) Thank you everyone again for your love, prayers & support of my husband, my kids & myself.. it all amazes me..
