So, Attorney General Eric Holder says that American citizens have a "duty to retreat" if threatened in public. He says that "stand your ground" laws "undermine public safety." Here is an actual quote: "But we must examine laws that take this further by eliminating the common-sense and age-old requirement that people who feel threatened have a duty to retreat, outside their home, if they can do so safely." If this is true then I submit to you that Trayvon Martin had a "duty to retreat" when confronted by a "creepy ass cracka," as described by Rachel Jantel, who was on the phone with Martin as Zimmerman was following him. Martin had easy access to escape the threat, all he had to do was beat feet out of there back home. INSTEAD Martin decided to escalate the incident by confronting, then assaulting Zimmerman, which resulted in his death. washingtonpost/politics/attorney-general-eric-holders-remarks-on-trayvon-martin-at-naacp-convention-full-text/2013/07/16/dec82f88-ee5a-11e2-a1f9-ea873b7e0424_story.html
