So Chille just lost his front tooth on top. Then he proudly showed me three more extremely loose teeth. Last night, the gaping holes in his mouth were bleeding and I thought I better put him on his antibiotic so he doesnt get an infection around his heart. Then all night I worried - he has holes in his mouth and three more loose teeth and he plays with it constantly and he has three days of school left before his pre-surgery quarentine. He needs to go to school, hes currently not sick now, but WHAT IF?! Kids mindlessly touch their mouths and play with their loose teeth - arent I significantly increasing his risk of illness by sending him to school today? The reason for the pre-surgery quarentine is to have a six day window so he doesnt come down with an illness the day of surgery or the following day when hes intubated. Anyway, I was on my way to school with Chille this morning and I stopped. I told Chille that I was really sorry, but sometimes Mommies need to listen to their instincts. I just think sending him to school today is a very bad idea. I feel really uncomfortable about this.
