So... During these "Days of Awe" I have been reading a "10 Days of Self Examination"... thing... and I came across part of it that definitely made me examine myself. Here it is: "Have I violated the sanctity of Shabbat or the Feast Days by unwholesome or frivolous activities that detract from the sacredness, the holiness command of the Sabbath? Have by my actions, words or deeds, distracted and caused others from keeping these days holy as commanded in the Torah?" At times, it is easy to fall into the trap of being "distracted". Easy to plan a "frivolous activity" during the night as long as we observed during the day, instead of setting it apart from eye-open to eye-close. I have, in times past, been occasionally guilty of such slipping. I never really thought of the impact it might be having on others to whittle away pieces of the precious, blessed Shabbat and I repent of that. If anything, it is against my personal conviction and I do not want my actions to bleed a poison that attacks the holy Shabbat that I am sworn to protect. If you are one who has seen me do this or heard me mention doing so without remorse, forgive me and do not repeat my error. Bless the Shabbat. Keep it set-apart and hold on to it as much as you can as it is a wonderful gift from our Father. Thanks for your proverbial ear. You may proverbially have it back now. :)
