So... Expanded Universe fans are upset about the new Star Wars movies going a direction that is new and fresh and doesnt use any of the EU concepts? Bawwwwwwww!!!! Your bitter tears are delicious! With the exception of a very slim few books, the EU was crap anyway. Im not saying Abrams is going to make a perfect movie... chances are its going to be a lens-flared-addled-trenchcoat-wearing-spidercrabmonkey-alien-infested bonanza... but at least its not the rehashed fan-fiction-tier dreck weve been served since day one (and to be fair, I bought a TON of that EU crud back in the day, but I was stupid and hungry for anything Star Wars during the long period between the 80s and the 90s. I was willing at that point to buy into the notion that that dude smoking a pipe in the Cantian was a vampire who sucked the brain juice out of peoples noses and that the fat chick with the six boobs in Jabbas palace was actually a hot, shapely six-boobed chick who was made fat and ugly to appeal to Jabba the Hutts Oedipal tendencies). BTW: I consider the prequels and the Special Editions to be Expanded Universe stuff made by a delusional madman posing as the creator of the greatest trilogy of all time, so consider that mindset before ripping me a new pooper-- you arent going to sway me toward believing Ol Sandycrotch Anakin is the guy who grows up to be the scourge of the Rebellion.
