So,...FEMA ignores a plead from the Illinois Governor to provide Illinois tornado victims and their communities financial assistance to offset catastrophic damage to private and public property, abandoning those communities to bear the brunt of clean-up and rebuilding their communities,...and FEMA denies an appeal made a a SECOND time to reconsider financial help to Illinois citizens and taxpayers whose taxes provide FEMA dollars,.....and later, on the same day of the Illinois assistance appeal denial,....our government approves an allocation of $1 BILLION (thats 1000 Million) dollars in assistance over the next year to help stabilize the Ukraine? (The Ukraine asked the international community for $35 BILLION in assistance over the next two years). Hmmmmmm,....OK Illinois citizens,....do you want your tax dollars to help struggling Illinois communities,.....or the Ukraine,....a Soviet Block nation , on the brink of Soviet military invasion to subdue a rebel uprising, placing our nation and the the Soviets in danger of a military confrontation, balk way around the world? I dont want to sound insensitive, but my vote goes to all the suffering Illinois communities whose OWN government has turned their back to a plea for help, to try to spread democracy in a nation that will never escape Soviet oppression and political influence. Anyone else a little disturbed about this along with me? Does it make sense to allocate a Billion dollars that WE DONT HAVE to what may well be a lost cause, taking us even deeper into national debt? Dig deeper Morton, Pekin, and the other Illinois communities abandoned to a political agenda,....the Ukraine needs YOUR money........
