So Hillsong Church is a Pentecostal megachurch in Austraila. They - TopicsExpress

So Hillsong Church is a Pentecostal megachurch in Austraila. They have mega-worship leaders who crank out original songs which Hillsong then markets all over the world. Oh, but you probably know all of this because Hillsong has 100,000 weekly attendees. And 10 million Facebook fans. And theyve 16 million albums sold. Did you know their songs have been recorded in 60 different languages? Did you know 30 million people sing their songs? Gee, how am I so up on my Hillsong stats? Because Ive just been informed. See, Hillsong is putting out a movie which I just saw a trailer for. And at the start of the trailer, Hillsong flashes their stats at us--letting us know that theyve been darn successful in the worlds eyes. Gee, thought these people were supposed to be hardcore Christians--after all, thats what they claim to be. The Hillsong staff claims to be immune to moral and spiritual corruption. They tell us right in their trailer that they have changed the world but the world hasnt changed them. Oh, really? And thats why their making a movie to exalt themselves? Thats why theyre taking the time to film themselves and tell us all about their personal lives? And what makes these people think we care about what they do in their spare time and what their families are like? What makes them think were interested in a bunch of footage of them prancing about on and off stage like carnal idiots? Oh, because the Hillsong people figure that by now they are like gods to us. After all we worship them, dont we? Of course we do--theyve got the stats to prove it. But better yet, theyve got the film footage. Just before the trailer ends, the camera pans out to an ocean of screaming fans and we see the words its not about them...its about Him. Did you catch that combination? A camera panning over an ocean of fans who are all going nuts over the Hillsong musicians and the caption says its not about them. Does something sound wrong to you with that combination of themes? Hillsong showing off their worshipers to us--THEIR worshipers--and at the same time trying to say its just about God?? Hillsong is right: the world isnt changing them anymore, because it finished corrupting them a long time ago. How completely deluded do you have to be to string together footage of people worshiping you and make an entire film exalting yourself and still think youre living for God? Take a good look, because this is what has happened to our leaders in the Church today. If you see this shrine to carnality when it comes out, I hope you see it for the ego fest that it is. I hope you recognize that throughout the whole Church, Gods Name and reputation have been reduced to mere vehicles which we use to exalt OURSELVES. God HATES idolatry, people, and at these so-called worship concerts of ours, He is NOT the One being exalted. You CANNOT exalt yourself and God at the same time, no matter how many times you scream His Name and point at the ceiling. YOU are the one on the stage, YOU are the one in the lights, YOU are the one that the crowd came to see and YOU KNOW IT. How outrageous that these Hillsong leaders should create a movie of themselves and then have the gall to claim its not about them! This transparent effort to increase their own popularity and encourage millions of Christians to continue worshiping them is gross demonstration of willful rebellion against God. God HATES idolatry. If you choose to see this piece of rot, I hope that truth rings in your head the entire time.
